Request Materials

Church World Service provides Blankets, Hygiene Kits, School Kits and Emergency Cleanup Buckets to qualifying 501(c)(3) agencies as needs arise. Assistance will be granted according to the following criteria:

Proof of 501(c)(3) status for the agency itself or the agency assuming responsibility for materials. Have documentation ready at the time of submission.
The need for CWS Blankets and/or Kits is the result of an emergency situation within the local community or a continuing unmet need.
Ordinarily only a single response will be made to any one agency within a calendar year with the exception of needs associated with an emergency or disaster response.
Because of the generosity of many donors, blankets and kits are provided to organizations free of charge. CWS needs your help to continue providing these free resources to organizations requesting them. As a way to share with donors how and where their donations are being distributed, CWS requires all receiving agencies to submit photographs and the user-end report following your distribution. Agencies that do not submit these items will not be eligible to request blankets and kits the following calendar year.

Logistics

CWS materials will be delivered within 5 to 15 business days of approval of the request. The delivery will be made by motor freight, with details communicated to your agency in advance of shipping. Please fill out the details below so that we can ensure the smoothest delivery process possible:

Each box for materials will weigh between 50 and 80 pounds. The recipient agency must provide volunteers capable of unloading and handling these boxes when they are delivered. Is the recipient agency able to provide the necessary volunteers?

NOTE: Your request will not be processed unless the applicant agency can provide the means (volunteers/staff) to assist with unloading boxes.

CWS requires a final report on the use of material resources. This report will include two stories with accompanying photos, documenting and detailing the impact of the resources on individuals and the community. In submitting this request, your agency agrees to complete and return the CWS Impact Report within four weeks of receipt. Please contact CWS if there will be a delay in completing the report. (Important: future fulfillment requests may be delayed pending report receipt.)
